Stare Down?

Monday evening Sam and Copper were doing a stare down.

Was it for attention?

Was it trying to figure each other out?

Was it to see which one is cuter?

Is Copper worried about when Sam can walk and chase her?

I think it is just the calm before the storm.

Visited Sam's Great Grandma Hawkins

We visited Samuel's Great Grandma Hawkins today.  She was so excited to see Samuel for the first time

Saturday night tummy time

Sam had a little tummy time Saturday night.  He loves the camera.

Friday night with dad

Sam was up and alert Friday night.  Jamie got some great photos of Sam looking around, holding his head up, smiling and standing up.  Sam is such a cute boy and we love his little smiles and cute dipples.

Kickin' Back

Sam is just kickin' back, he had a busy day and found a new way to sleep.  Its like he owns the place or something.

Nap Time on the couch

Sam just catching a nap in the afternoon.  He loves to sleep on his stomach, but it is not recommended by the pediatrician, so we only let him lay that way when we are next to him.

1 month checkup at the doctor

Sam had his 1 month checkup today at the doctor (even though he 5 1/2 weeks old).  Sam weighed in at 11lb-3oz, he is 23 inches long, and his head measures 15 1/2 inches around.  He is growing so fast and he is doing great according to the doctor.  Soon we will be able to go into public with Sam after needing to wait 6 weeks, just concerns with sickness.  We look forward to visiting more family and friends in the coming weeks.  We also look forward to getting back to a more normal schedule, being able to go to the grocery store together, out to eat, and to church.

1 month old

Sam turned 1 month old today!!!!

Sam is sleeping well at night, usually 3 to 4 hours at a time.

Jamie and I look forward to getting up around 2am to feed Sam.  HAHAHA!!!

Sam is growing and changing so much, so quickly.  He holds his head up really well, he is much more vocal and is able to turn over from his belly to his back.

It is really great now to see him smile, it makes us so happy to see that cute smile and little dipples.

Easter at the Hawkins

Went to Grandma and PaPa Hawkin's house for Easter.

Flowers on Easter Morning

I got up early Easter morning, what a beautiful day it was!!  I went outside and took the photos below around our yard.  Jamie and I planted 100 mixed color tulip bulbs this past fall; it seems that we have a lot more purple than anything.  God is so great to create such beautiful flowers and bless us with our son Samuel.

Weighing Sam

We were curious about how much Sam weighed, since he has been eating so much. Went to Grandma and Grandpa Johnsman's on Saturday before Easter. We weighed Sam on the food scale, with a big stainless steel bowl on top.

Not sure how much Sam liked this.

The bowl weighs 2lb-3ozs, so Sam weighs 10lb-6oz.

Sleeps like Dad

April Fool's

Sam has been sleeping in his crib during the nights, he has been for a little over a week.  We are just trying to get him to sleep in the crib during the day for nap time. 

On 4/1/10 he slept well in the crib, lately he won't sleep during the day at all, we guess it was an April Fool's on us.

I'm trying to nap, Sam thinks otherwise.
